It's the start of a new year, and that means it's time to pick out a new calendar (if you haven't already done so). On the plus side, some places might start discounting calendars soon. I've found some great letterpress options to get you started. Ready, set, go!
Is this not one of the best calendars you've ever seen? I will probably buy this because seriously, how can you not? Ditto Ditto Works calls this "The Bonding" because every month features a mom and baby. Enjoy twelve months of panda, polar bear, kangaroo, deer, rhino, penguin, gorilla, sheep, zebra, elephant, nashorn (another rhino?), and giraffe...with babies! Sweet baby, sweet baby!
This calendar takes a little bit of effort on your part. You have to remember to turn the dial every day, but with effort comes reward! The folks at Black Bird Press are very clever. See, you can learn what each sea creature eats by checking what little yellow meals are in their stomachs! I like that they included a shark. Christine and I spent the first day of the New Year watching The Reef and Sharknado. I didn't understand most of Sharknado. I said to Christine that I didn't know why they just didn't stick to the hurricane. They didn't need to add tornadoes. Christine said that maybe it was because "Sharkicane" doesn't sound as cool, but then we both agreed that it did.
This colorful hand letterpressed calendar is made by Brown Parcel Press. They were inspired by their garden (and by the contents of the calendar, their garden is extra impressive). The calendar contains leeks, fennel, dandelion greens, rhubarb, okra, chamomile, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, watermelon, mushrooms, purple cabbage, spinach, and golden cauliflower! Each calendar goes through the letterpress machine 21 times! Just look at those colors--so vibrant!
I love the layout of this calendar. Every two months is represented on one page. The calendar features all endangered animals including the blue whale, Bengal tiger, Sumatran Rhino, whooping crane, loggerhead turtle, and Galapagos penguin. You'll feel good about buying this calendar because 20% of every purchase gets donated to the WWF.
Keep track of 2014 by treating yourself to a lovely letterpressed calendar. Decisions, decisions!
