I had a last minute house/cat-sitting gig this weekend, which means I ended up with a bunch of idle time. I spent that time re-watching a few episodes of The Walking Dead--I'm trying to decide if I hate it...I still don't have a clue--reading Catching Fire (which, of course, I love), and thinking someone was going to murder me. Pretty standard fare for all my house-sitting adventures...
Now, as you crafters know, watching tv (or imaging your death at the hands of a serial killer) without a project in your lap is just an awful feeling. So, I packed up a little kit of felting supplies, grabbed a sand dollar from my shelf, and channeled all that terror (murderers!) and annoyance (lukewarm zombie tv programming) into this.
It only took a couple interminable episodes of TWD. There, I said it. Interminable. Ugh. As a result, my sand dollar project seemed to take longer than it actually did. Just listen to me make excuses. Psh.
And here's the back side.
And a little top action.
And because Catherine always says that things need to be put in trees:
It's a pretty simple project, really. Simple and sweet. I might just send it off to Mother!
nice felting!!
ReplyDeleteps i love walking dead
Thanks, Michelle! I'm still in the middle of making a decision on The Walking Dead. I think the issue is that I've seen too many zombie movies...
DeleteThis sand dollar is so lovely. You should send one to Jessica Moll. She has a poem about sand dollars.
ReplyDeleteAww thanks, Maya! Do you keep in touch with Jessica Moll? It's been forever since I've heard JM news.
DeleteNice work. I'm a fan of The Walking Dead, too, but usually watch the show clutching a blanket or baseball bat ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Donaville! So that makes two "yes" votes for The Walking Dead!
DeleteThanks to your site I just learned several things. Continue!
