Made & Found

The sisters are always quick to document signs of nature in the city. Technically, we document nature in nature like the woods and stuff too, but anyway, you get what I mean. I found this pretty little seagull feather in downtown Olympia. I promptly picked it up and put it in Chase's face. Christine told me it probably had bird lice on it. It probably did. Now it's on my bookshelf.

Make: Spray painted cockatoo

For whatever reason I have a couple large cockatoo ceramic statues. I love as is, the other I have never really taken a strong liking, and since I never shy away from painting some glazed ceramics I decided to take a shot and go for it once again.

(Do you love the bottlebrush trees? They were a second Christmas gift from Christine--she bleached and dyed them herself. I think they're swell.)

Here is my adventure in spray painting another ceramic piece...

Visitors from afar.

I recently had a week of visitors, well two visitors split up this last week. Ben's mom who traveled south from Washington to have some birthday fun, and Dawn made the trek (she flew, she didn't actually trek) from Austin, Texas.

Here is a peek of the fun times we had via instagram. Yea fun!

Ben helped me sew a Happy Birthday banner for his mom out of felt.
We used this to stage a fun little birthday party at Disneyland with party hats, pom-poms, and all that's good.

We saw some men climbing the Matterhorn, they are the little blurry red dots way up at the top.

snail friends

This weekend was absolutely glorious--the first really nice weekend the PNW has seen this year. I spent the last 2 weekends in class, but after that was through, I did a bunch of yard work with Mom. We came across these two lovebirds as we were planting radishes and lettuce. I shall call them Edna and Timothy (pssst, the dark shell is Edna).

They shall be my garden pets.

We became fast friends.

Then I politely dropped them off back home.

See you around, Timothy and Edna!

Oh and PS, I also saw a dead bird on campus this weekend. I took a picture of it when no one was around. A couple of minutes later this girl rode by on her bicycle. She saw the bird and looked really sad. Then she picked up the dead bird (with her hands BIRD FLU, HELLO!!!), and she put the bird in her backpack.

Weirdo.

Nick gets shit on.

A perfect way to start the weekend!

We walked downtown to get coffee.
I took this picture mere seconds before the shit took place

It also got in his hair.

And then we returned home...then we left for Portland.
