Best of: Leather DIYs

There's no doubt that leather is a classic, and it's not surprising that we've seen a large number of leather projects over the past year. Leather can be incorporated into any design from ultra modern to vintage-inspired and when cared for, leather will only get better with age. Here are a few of my favorite modern leather projects...

Peanut & Purls and a cat house from UP

I've been planning on making Peanut her very own UP house for a while now.  On a Monday night, the urge became too strong. Four days later, and this is what I have. It's a monster of a cat house (quite large), but I love it!

Made & Found: Structured Alpaca Cowl

With all the cowl making Catherine has been doing this past year, I finally got motivated to knit one for myself. Take forever, right? I buy nice yarn with every intention of making something, but then I let the skeins sit on my dresser for weeks. Ok, months. Catherine finally gave up asking me if I had started the hat I was supposed to be working on in October. I think because I flipped it and used the hat yarn for my cowl...

Peanut & Purls and new knits

Do you remember at the end of December when I blogged about Brooklyn Tweed's Winter Look Book? There was that one resplendent sweater called Alloy. I caved and bought some knitpicks yarn. I really wanted to get Brooklyn Tweed yarn (remember Truffle Hunt?), but it would be a $150 sweater, and I want to make sure I love the pattern first.

Peanut & Purls & Lisa Frank oil paints take 2

A couple of months back I started my Lisa Frank oil paint collage to hang somewhere in my new house. The first sticker to paint was the dolphin. I always loved that dolphin. Well since then I added a shark and some cats in a sneaker.

Handmade Home: red dress

I found my way up to the thrift store by my house again, and naturally I had an overflowing basket on my bike ride home. I did however pull of my favorite and most elusive play, purchasing a dress, that I liked for this reason or that, intending to alter it, and actually doing it!

Peanut & Purls and decorating for Valentine's Day!

The only part of Valentine's Day that I've ever given a crap about was in elementary school when we would get to decorate some brown paper lunch bag with constructions paper, doilies, and glitter. We would tape these pink and red glitter heart bombs to our desk with much anticipation. The next day all the kids would deliver valentines to our desks. Usually the paper bags (Valentine mailboxes...?) would tear and fall off the desk before the day was over but that was just a sign that you were gifted a lot of valentine loot!

Peanut & Purls & some finished holiday knits!

I hate to admit it, but I haven't finished with my holiday knits quite yet. I did manage to finish this simple, yet classic, scarf for one of my favorite people, Pat!

Made & Found: Housewarming quilt!

On My Honor readers--you have no idea how honored I am to be given such a bomb-ass housewarming present! Back in July, my good friend Kathy (who has some serious quilting skills) told me she was making me a quilt for my new house. She let me pick from some fabric options, a snappy 6 months later, she more than delivered the goods. Check it!

Handmade Home: New Year, New Pillows

There's nothing like a good pillow to pull a room together. Last year I made some new pillows for the living room, but never really fell in love with them. I used some different fabrics and colors and after a while I decided that they had to go for a cleaner simpler look. Since I'm going for a fresh start this new year, I wanted to reinforce that with some fresh pillows...

Peanut & Purls and Christmas Knits

First off, I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and HAPPY NEW YEAR! While I haven't quite finished the Battlestar Galactica socks (sorry mom, I'm well into the second sock), I did manage to whip up this seed stitch cowl for my dear friend Lindsey!

Handmade Home: Year in Review

Well it's been a big year for us at On My Honor, and even though we took a short hiatus this spring we are back in full swing and are excited and appreciative that you take the time to visit our blog. We sisters have been pretty busy, and here are some of the things we made. So please enjoy our handmade year in review...

Peanut & Purls: Last Minute Christmas Presents

Christmas is way too close now. I thought I was ready. I was even getting smug about it. That is, I was getting all smug about it until I decided to throw in another hand knit present. Now what the hell am I going to do?

Handmade Home: Merry Merry Banner

We have a really nice vaulted ceiling in our living room, and with my love for draping various decorations (you can see my hot air balloons hanging in the background), it's surprising that I haven't ventured to maximize the heights of the room. This year is different though, because I am making merry work of that empty space...

Made and found: Christmas decorations!

As soon as December hit, I swapped out my fall decorations for a little indoor winter wonderland. We're experiencing some abnormally chilly weather in the Pacific Northwest. It's going to be in the 20's for a few days (believe me, that's cold for here). I've done enough crafting in past few winters, that I have a pretty solid base of decorations to start with. Take a peek!

Handmade Home: Christmas chaos

So this weekend we got out our Christmas decorations and started to get things going. When I say this weekend, I mean late Sunday afternoon, so needless to say our house is still amidst the Christmas chaos of decorating.

As soon as I have some well maintained, organized things to show I'll be back, but this week I need to leave you with this lovely hand made holiday wrapping paper that us sisters made last year for a BuzzFeed post.

Also, if you are feigning for some handmade holiday goodies check out our pin boards, they are chalked full of great ideas and pin-spiration.

Handmade Home: November Banner

I love to celebrate the seasons, and bring a little life in to my environment every couple months. especially here when sometimes the weather doesn't lend itself to reinforcing that it's fall or winter. So this weekend I made a 'November' banner.

I figured that monograms are so popular, and they make days of the week underwear, so why shouldn't I have months of the year banners...?

Handmade Home: Fall Decor OMH style

It's time to put away your spooky spider and black cats (not black and whites, they can stay I guess), because spooky October has been buried. It's time to get straight in to fall, welcome to November!

Here are some of our sisters (well these three posts are all from Catherine, way to embrace the season!) crafts that can make you a little more thankful...
